What does a green roof look like? What does it feel like? What does it do? Join us in the installation of a green roof on top of Radha Yoga & Eatery and discover how to transform an empty roof into a beautiful landscape. Projects in Place, along with students from the BCIT Center For Architectural Ecology and Xero Flor Canada will be installing the green roof as part of Radha’s extensive green renovations. These renovations have been made possible by a Green Building Grant from Vancity and the Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia.
If you are interested in learning more about green roofs and their many environmental benefits, join these trained and knowledeable volunteers on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Radha Yoga and Eatery at 728 Main Street. Light refreshments will be served. For more information contact Bryce Gauthier, Director of Projects In Place at 604. 317.9682 or email email@example.com.

Classes are held at Radha Yoga & Eatery, a yoga space and vegan restaurant serving organic, local fare. Radha is currently renovating its century-old building to reduce its carbon footprint, energy, and water use while improving the overall comfort of the building. Other project partners include Ventana Construction Corporation and the Lighthouse Sustainable Building Centre. For more information on Radha and the renovations, see http://www.radhavancouver.org
The Projects In Place Society brings communities together by helping people design and implement projects that demonstrate environmental stewardship. Xero Flor is the green roof supplier that has generously offered their product at a discount. Xero Flor has been successfully greening rooftops around the world for over 35 years with pre-grown systems that are lightweight, durable and low maintenance.
