We have been working with the Strathcona Business Improvement Association (BIA) on an innovative program designed to divert food, reusable and recyclable waste from participating businesses within the Strathcona BIA from our waste stream – and provides jobs in the process.

The Strathcona Green Zone Resource Park will utilize modified shipping containers to house waste materials and greenhouse enclosures for a close-coupled composting system which will provide a small urban farm with a constant supply of fertilizer and soil amendments.

The project will also provide members of the community with an opportunity for skill development and employment.

The project is currently in the Development Permit application process. Construction early spring.
