The Vancouver Society of Children’s Centres (VSOCC) and Projects in Place Society (PIPS) partnered a second time to redesign and build the outdoor play space at the Vancouver Public Library Children's Centre.

The design focused on several creative play and storytelling features while incorporating concepts of sustainability, food security and environmental conservation. By improving this playground we help introduce children to these important concepts in a fun and interactive setting.

Since this daycare spanned three separate levels, this project was a giant. Our amazing volunteers worked hard all weekend to build a greenhouse, several play structures, a drama stage, a compost station and raised bed planters. The outdoor play space is completely revived and inviting.

"Our experience with Projects in Place was amazing. Their design for our campus community garden reflected and enhanced our vision, and they helped us with every detail to bring that vision to life. Our garden has grown into a lush space of learning and community-building, and we couldn't have created it without Projects in Place."
