Volunteers Needed
Sapphire Children’s Centre Outdoor Play Space
Sunday, March 2 2014 and Saturday March 8 2014 / 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Please join Projects in Place and the Vancouver Society of Children’s Centres in upgrading the Sapphire Children’s Centre playground. We will be incorporating concepts of sustainability, food security and environmental conservation with play and storytelling.

Build activities will include:
· Installing a berm;
· Creating a composting station;
· Planting raised bed gardens;
· Constructing a stage.

By improving this playground we help to introduce children to concepts like sustainability, agriculture, and environmental conservation. With your help on pre-build and build events you can be part of this important legacy of creating high quality early learning environments.

We will be holding two separate build events. March 2nd will be our pre build day which means we will be prepping and painting the lumber, building mockups and begin assembling some of the large elements. March 8th will be our big assembly day – we will also be planting and adding those finishing touches. Both days are equally important, so please feel free to sign up for either or both!

*Registration for the pre build is now closed.  Thank you to all of the volunteers who signed up!
