Sapphire Children’s Centre Outdoor Play Space
Sunday, March 2 2014 and Saturday March 8 2014 / 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Please join Projects in Place and the Vancouver Society of Children’s Centres in upgrading the Sapphire Children’s Centre playground. We will be incorporating concepts of sustainability, food security and environmental conservation with play and storytelling.


Broadway East Art Walk – Sept 28th

I wanted to share a quick post regarding a project that I am helping with called the Broadway East Art Walk in Mount Pleasant.

I first became involved by attending meetings led by the Weaving Policy People and Place Together (WPPPT) team which was formed to supplement the vision for the neighbourhood under the Mount Pleasant Community Plan, and more specifically the Broadway East Revitalization.

We have two days of landscape work available for an interested individual on Monday August 26 and Tuesday August 27. This is a heavy labour position that will require the physical ability to move large amounts of material with a shovel. Work boots and gloves are required.


VSOCC W Pender – Planting Day

Recently Projects in Place started working in conjunction with the Vancouver Society of Children’s Centres (VSOCC) to re-design and enhance the playgrounds for some of their facilities thanks to the funding provided by Ausenco Foundation. The proposed enhancements to the playgrounds are meant to provide children and their families with opportunities to develop a sense of social responsibility, ecological awareness and sustainability skills and habits on a continual basis.

We are extremely proud of our team: Lehran Hache, Carlos Guerrero and Bryce Gauthier of Projects in Place with Amy Tsang, Landscape Architect. Our design for the the Surrey Design ParkIt Competition was an inspired celebration of food, diversity and community involvement.
